Assistance:
Elissa was awarded a Wally Foreman Scholarship at the age of 19 as she was on the verge of breaking into the senior Australian track cycling team, with dreams of competing for Australia at both World Championship and Olympic level. Elissa's six-days-a-week training regime and study demands meant finding casual work was a challenge. That challenge was compunded after Elissa's father suffered a stroke, which has forced her mum to return to work to support the family. The Wally Foreman Foundation Scholarship provided invaluable assistance in easing the financial burden and costs associated with travelling for competition and equipment.
